CLERK II
Summary of Position
Performs intake, verification and follow-up procedures for program applicants and clients of various Community Development financial assistance programs. Provides assistance to the energy assistance intake sites.
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs client interviews and completes intake applications for assistance programs
- Verifies applicant documentation for various Community Development financial assistance programs and completeness of client files prior to assistance payments by the department
- Assists households with arranging deferred and budget payment agreements with energy providers and other services directly related to assist eligible households meet the cost of home energy
- Does outreach in certain areas of the county to afford greater availability and accessibility to all low income households and home visit
- Generates correspondence to and provides case management services for recipients of the Madison County energy assistance program
- Performs general clerical duties such as filing, answering phones and receptionist activities
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent and zero to six (6) months related experience are required.
Physical Requirements
Sit for extended periods of time. The employee is required to walk or move up to 400 feet from primary desk. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift/and or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
