Paraprofessional / Classroom Aide

AB Staffing is looking for Paraprofessionals/Classroom Aides that are available for the 25/26 school year.

Job Description:

• Salary: $23 - $25/hr.
• Contract through the school year – 37 to 40 hours per week.
• Contract follows the academic district calendar.

Position Summary:

The Paraprofessional provides instructional and behavioral support to students under the supervision of licensed teachers. Responsibilities include assisting with classroom activities, helping students with individualized learning needs, and promoting a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.

• Support teachers with classroom instruction and activities.
• Assist students with academic assignments and interventions.
• Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) under teacher guidance.
• Monitor and support student behavior and social-emotional development.
• Help prepare materials and maintain a safe, organized classroom environment.
• Provide supervision during lunch, recess, or other non-instructional times as needed.

Requirements:

• Paraprofessional Approval or Substitute Teacher Certification from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) required.
• Prior experience working with children or in a classroom setting preferred.
• Strong communication, patience, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to follow teacher guidance and adapt to student needs.
• Commitment to student success and a positive learning environment.
• Must have the ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time; see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; and the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; May include frequent walking, standing, stooping, lifting up to approximately 25 pounds and occasional lifting of equipment and/or materials weighing up to approximately 40 pounds may be required.
