Job Description:
Our client is seeking a detail-focused Medical Payment Posting Specialist to support high-volume payment processing. This role is responsible for posting and reconciling payments, managing adjustments, and ensuring patient accounts are accurate and up to date. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with insurance payments, EOBs, and both manual and electronic posting methods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Post insurance, patient, and third-party payments to accounts with a high level of accuracy
- Balance and reconcile daily deposits to ensure payments are properly distributed
- Process payment adjustments, refunds, and denials in accordance with payer guidelines
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to underpayments, overpayments, or misapplied funds
- Collaborate with internal billing and AR teams to address payment-related issues
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and internal policies
- Assist with additional revenue cycle tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical payment posting, preferably in a high-volume environment
- Experience handling both manual and electronic cash posting
- Strong background applying payments from insurance carriers, patients, and lockbox files
- Proven experience reviewing EOBs and processing payment adjustments
- Familiarity with medical billing systems such as Epic, NextGen PM, or similar platforms
- Working knowledge of EHR systems and Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently
Work Schedule:
- Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week
- Flexible start time between 7:30 AM and 9:00 AM
