Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Application Engineer to oversee and enhance Oracle ERP and Point-of-Sale (POS) applications. This role supports key enterprise systems, including financial management, inventory, customer experience, supply chain, and analytics.
As a critical link between end users and technical teams, you’ll ensure the seamless design, customization, and optimization of core applications. The role is highly collaborative—working with business units, IT teams, 3rd-party vendors, and system implementers to improve performance, streamline processes, and support automation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as liaison between business stakeholders and product development teams for Oracle ERP and POS (Xstore).
- Translate business requirements into scalable, technical solutions and document system workflows.
- Maintain and enhance application functionality including installation, upgrades, and customizations.
- Conduct gap analysis to identify unmet business needs and recommend system improvements.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate resolutions.
- Analyze business processes and identify automation or AI-driven optimization opportunities.
- Write SQL queries for data analysis, troubleshooting, and reporting.
- Create and maintain user documentation and training materials.
- Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Collaborate with QA teams to ensure high-quality releases.
- Provide on-call and after-hours application support when needed.
- Stay up to date on evolving ERP and POS technologies and recommend new tools or strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of application support experience, including at least 3 years supporting Oracle ERP solutions.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
- Proficient in SQL and experienced with database management or scripting languages.
- Familiarity with reporting and business intelligence (BI) tools.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Ability to support end users in a professional, proactive manner.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing learning and after-hours support as needed.
If you're passionate about driving business efficiency through technology and enjoy being the go-to expert on enterprise systems, we’d love to hear from you.
