Job Description
The Sales Trainee Representative (STR) program is designed to build a strong pipeline of future sales and marketing professionals within the Medical Systems Group (MSG) by developing recent college graduates early in their careers.
STRs will officially report to the Regional Vice President (RVP) and will receive structured development and mentoring from the RVP, Executive Account Manager (EAM) , and Executive Leadership Program (ELP) members. ELP members will serve as mentors to the trainees, gaining valuable coaching and leadership experience in the process. Collectively, this leadership team will provide the guidance, training, and support necessary for STRs to advance their sales and marketing careers at Olympus Corporation of the Americas .
The STR program spans 18 months , during which trainees will receive hands-on development through the Sales Training Department and Field Sales Trainers. STRs will be assigned to a field-based territory and aligned with a specific regional sales team. The majority of training will take place in the field, working closely with the assigned EAM and RVP.
Note: This is an 18-month assignment, and continued employment is not guaranteed upon completion of the program.
Job Duties
-
Completing virtual and classroom training curriculum, inclusive of: sales process training, clinical training, business acumen training and medical device product training.

Assisting with demos and installations.
-
Staffing in services and case support.
-
Uncovering and developing additional needs in key accounts to expand our portfolio.

Promoting new product launches and helping maintain current business.

Assisting in maintaining, managing, and developing the Olympus service business.

Assisting with contract maintenance, including lease turnovers, service contract assistance, and leveraged agreement management.

Assisting with regional workshops.

Assisting EAM with account management duties, including developing, implementing, and managing an effective territory management plan in collaboration with the EAM, ELP member, and RVP.

Completing special projects as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Required:

Bachelor's Degree required.

Must have demonstrated leadership skills. A passion for continued learning is essential.

Upon successful completion of the 18-month assignment, participants will be eligible to advance into a full-time position within our Field Sales Organization in an assigned territory, Associate Representative roles, or in-house Marketing or office building nation-wide as determined by availability. The ability to relocate significantly enhances additional opportunities. Throughout the program, the candidate will be exposed to a dynamic, fast-paced environment designed to develop exceptional business acumen and clinical selling skills. At the conclusion of the 18-month assignment, the STR will be eligible for consideration for a full-time position as determined by availability and as directed by executive management. At the end of the 18 months, the STR may be eligible to extend for an additional time as deemed appropriate by the business, if mutually agreed upon by the STR and Sales Leadership.

The intended 18-month duration of this assignment does not change the at-will nature of the employment relationship and does not serve as a guarantee that the successful candidate will remain employed for any particular employment period.

Must have a valid driver's license.

Must adhere to all customer and vendor credentialing requirements when visiting medical facilities.

Internship experience in relevant areas preferred.

Must be comfortable with quantitative and qualitative analysis and take a creative, yet pragmatic, approach to problem solving while maintaining quality.

The ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, to work collaboratively, and to influence others is necessary.

Must have strong computer skills.

Total compensation: $60,000.00 base salary per year + eligibility for a performance-based commission plan, which includes certain non-discretionary incentives based on predetermined objectives. Commission earnings are not guaranteed and are determined by individual sales performance in accordance with the terms of the Sales Incentive Compensation Plan.
