NANI Vascular Addison is seeking an experienced Scrub Tech to join our vascular clinical team who understand the needs of our patients and will put care above everything else. Willow Springs Scrub Techs work with the care team to assist in the treatment of patients in the pre-procedure, intra-procedure and post procedure phase of treatment.

The Surgical Technician is responsible for the provision of patient care activities, related non-professional services necessary for patient care, and maintenance of the operating room under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

As a representative of the facility, employees must maintain professional, respectful, cooperative, and supportive interactions with patients, physicians, referral sources, visitors, volunteers, coworkers, supervisors, vendors, and guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• The Operating Room Technician is responsible for implementing technical components of patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse and according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Demonstrates competency in all procedures within the scope of practice.
• Participates in the nursing process and delivery of patient care.
• Communicates accurate and timely patient information to the Registered Nurse.
• Maintains clear, accurate, and timely documentation.
• Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with patients, families, and coworkers.
• Uses appropriate communication techniques.
• Sets up supplies and equipment needed for patient care.
• Demonstrates knowledge of a variety of surgical procedures.
• Gathers supplies, x-rays, instruments, and equipment for cases.
• Handles instruments appropriately and maintains sterile technique.
• Assists with room cleanliness and equipment readiness.
• Sets up equipment needed for patient care.
• Assists with anesthesia during procedures.
• Prepares surgical sites carefully.
• Assists with patient positioning.
• Prepares and labels specimens correctly.
• Accompanies patients and anesthesia staff to PACU.
• Organizes and prioritizes patient care plans under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Implements, documents, evaluates, and revises plans of care as needed.
• Integrates physician orders into patient care plans.
• Collaborates effectively with physicians and other members of the healthcare team.
• Demonstrates knowledge of medication and treatment administration according to policy.
Clinical Leadership
• Accepts responsibility for patient care activities within the operating room.
• Demonstrates appropriate judgment and decision-making skills.
• Serves as a preceptor and resource for new surgical team members.
• Acts as a patient advocate for physical and psychological needs.
• Communicates effectively and intervenes appropriately during stressful situations.
• Maintains a safe and comfortable surgical environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience
One-year certificate from a college or technical school, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals; write reports and correspondence; and communicate effectively with patients, employees, and groups.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, proportions, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule-based instructions.

Physical Demands
• Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear.
• Frequently required to use hands and reach with arms.

• Requires close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
