Business development - heavy
COMPANY OVERVIEW : Our client is an international presence by providing complete door-to-door services up to and including final erection of heavy and extra-heavy project components world-wide, including the industry of modularized items.
POSITION: Business Development Manager - Heavy Haul COMPENSATION : Competitive salary + DOE BENEFITS: Standard package LOCATION: Chicago, IL SUMMARY: Serves customers by selling Heavy Haul / Heavy Lift and specialty rigging products/services; meeting customer needs. Duties Or Responsibilities- Demonstrates technical selling skills and product knowledge in all markets/industries of interest for the Company
- Develops annual business plan in conjunction with Sales Manager, which details activities to follow during the fiscal year, which will focus the Sales Associate on meeting or exceeding sales quota
- Complete understanding of pricing and proposal models
- Demonstrates the ability to carry on a business conversation with business owners and decision makers
- Maximizes all opportunities in the process of closing a sale resulting in the taking of market share from larger competitors
- Sells consultatively and makes recommendations to prospects and clients of the various solutions the company offers to their business issues
- Develops a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, face to face cold calling on business owners, direct mail, email, presentations, and networking
- Assists in the implementation of company marketing plans as needed
- Creates and conducts effective proposal presentations and RFP responses that identify prospective business problems, the effects of the problems, and develop a solution based on Fagioli’s capabilities and assets
- Responsible for sourcing and developing client relationships and referrals.
- Demonstrates the ability to gather, submit detailed business information for underwriting, pricing, and presentation of solutions to identified prospects’ business problems
- Maintains accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities within their assigned territory, including the use of the Master Bid Log to maintain accurate records to maximize territory potential
- Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
- Participates and contributes to the development of presentations and educational programs offered to clients, prospects, and company employees
- Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses
- Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
- Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments
- Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the heavy haul / heavy lift and specialty rigging industry providing high-capacity lifting equipment, SPMT transport solutions, while often with marine vessel involvement
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or equivalent industry experience
- Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Microsoft Project
