Are you looking for a great opportunity with an energetic team in one of Chicago’s most beautiful riverfront restaurants? River Roast is hiring Barbacks to support our high-volume bar and restaurant operations.

River Roast is one of the top restaurants on the Chicago River, featuring a large patio, two full-service restaurant bars, and four additional bars dedicated to private events. We are looking for motivated, dependable, and hard-working team members who are ready to grow with us and help deliver an outstanding guest experience every day.

As a Barback , you will play a key role in supporting our bartenders and maintaining the speed, cleanliness, and quality of service that our guests expect. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in keeping things organized, and understands the importance of teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain proper bar setup and restocking throughout service
Support bartenders during busy shifts and private events
Change kegs and restock beer, wine, liquor, ice, glassware, garnishes, and bar supplies
Keep bar areas, service stations, and floors clean and organized
Assist with cleaning, trash removal, and overall bar maintenance
Help maintain cleanliness in the bar area, patio, and restaurant during rush periods
Follow all Levy and Compass Group standards, safety procedures, and alcohol service policies
Work as part of a team to ensure smooth, professional, and efficient service

What We Are Looking For:

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Team-oriented mindset and willingness to support others
Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail
Ability to lift, carry, stock, and move items as needed
Previous bar or restaurant experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate
