What You Will Do
- Create and deliver driver training programs aligned with DOT and EPA requirements
- Manage all initial and recurrent training schedules
- Conduct field evaluations, ride‑alongs, and driver skills assessments
- Coach drivers on safety, compliance, equipment use, and customer service
- Identify gaps in current driver practices and recommend improvements
- Collaborate with operations, safety, and hazardous waste teams on training priorities
- Serve as the organization’s subject‑matter expert on hazardous waste driver responsibilities
- Travel 70–75% of the time across the U.S.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Safety, Transportation, Training, or similar field (or equivalent experience)
- 4+ years in hazardous waste management, transportation, or DOT/RCRA compliance
- 2+ years in training, coaching, or a team lead role
- Strong understanding of DOT/FMCSA and EPA regulations
- Experience with load securement, shipping papers, and other transportation fundamentals
- Proven ability to evaluate performance and deliver hands‑on, skills‑based training
- Experience creating SOPs, programs, or process improvements
- Ability to lead a program at a national level
- Preferred certifications: DOT HazMat Transportation, RCRA Annual Training, HazMat CDL endorsement

$79,292 - $113,723 a year
The pay range for this position is $79,292 to $113,723 salary. Actual compensation within this range will depend on factors unique to each candidate, such as prior experience, skill, certifications, and work location. Pay variations by location reflect local conditions and differences in the cost of labor.
