We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team in Wheaton, Illinois. This Contract to permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to work on-site with a small, close-knit team in a quiet office environment. The ideal candidate will manage key financial tasks, ensuring smooth operations and accurate record-keeping.
Responsibilities:
• Handle day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including maintaining accurate financial records.
• Prepare and post general ledger journal entries to ensure proper accounting practices.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently.
• Generate and issue invoices to clients and customers accurately.
• File sales tax reports and annual reports as required.
• Ensure licenses, certificates of insurance, and other compliance documents are up-to-date.
• Keep track of work-in-process data and update records in the accounting system.
• Utilize accounting software to perform key financial tasks and supplement work with Excel as needed.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure financial data integrity and compliance.
The salary range for this position is $22.00 to $25.00 an hour. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance. • Experience with accounting software, including QuickBooks or similar systems; willingness to learn if unfamiliar.• Solid understanding of Excel and ability to use it for supplementary tasks.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to update and maintain financial records accurately.
• At least 1 year of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a similar role.
• Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a small team environment.
