Full-time (37.5 hours/week, Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.)

Wesley United Methodist Church in Macomb, Illinois, is seeking a dedicated and organized Office & Communications Manager to join our ministry team. This full-time position supports the day-to-day operations, communications, and ministries of the church, helping to fulfill our mission of cultivating growing, personal relationships with God through Jesus Christ.

The Office & Communications Manager plays a vital role in keeping our ministries running smoothly and ensuring that members, visitors, and the wider community experience hospitality, organization, and clear communication in every interaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact in the church office—greeting visitors, answering calls, and assisting members and staff.
• Maintain church records, membership database, and calendars for meetings, events, and building use.
• Prepare weekly worship bulletins, monthly newsletters, and special service materials (Easter, Christmas, funerals, etc.).
• Manage internal and external communications, including social media, website updates, and email lists.
• Support ministry teams and committees through scheduling, printing, and distributing materials.
• Coordinate with staff and volunteers to ensure smooth operations for worship, programs, and community outreach.
• Assist in preparing reports, maintaining security access systems, and ordering office supplies.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Excel) and comfortable learning church database systems.
• Experience managing websites and social media platforms preferred.
• Ability to work independently, multitask, and adapt to changing priorities in a busy environment.
• Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and Christian values.
• Must pass a background check.
• Knowledge of local community resources or social services is a plus.
