Industrial Controls Technician (Allen‑Bradley PLC/HMI)

Worthington Steel - USA
Chicago, IL

Step into a day on our 1st shift

It is 6:00 a.m. and you connect to an Allen‑Bradley Logix or SLC PLC to clear a fault on a stamping press, then tune an HMI screen to verify interlocks on an annealing furnace. By 9, you have logged your work in the maintenance system, executed a preventive maintenance task on a straightener, and begun root-cause analysis on a recurring sensor issue. Before lunch, you validate motor control circuits, test continuity, voltage, and resistance, and document materials used. After lunch, you rewire a panel to prints, update ladder logic to improve reliability, calibrate instruments, and support a rapid response to an equipment trip—all while keeping the area clean and safe.
