Oncology RN Job Details

• Location: Peoria, IL 61637 (Central Illinois healthcare jobs)
• Setting: Outpatient Medical Oncology Chemo Clinic
• Employment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract
• Start Date: September 15, 2025
• End Date: December 15, 2025
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, variable day shift hours
• Shift Duration: 8-hour shifts
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
• No weekends, holidays, or on-call required
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2370–$2430

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS certification (AHA required)
• ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) certification required
• OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in medical oncology or outpatient oncology nursing
• Proficiency with EPIC/Beacon charting systems
• Ability to float to registration for central line blood draws as needed

Oncology RN Responsibilities

• Rooming oncology patients and coordinating chemotherapy schedules
• Tracking labs, triaging telephone calls, and ordering laboratory tests
• Managing medication refill requests and responding to patient messages
• Ordering pathology-specific testing and preparing provider schedules
• Scheduling imaging and diagnostic testing at outside facilities
• Communicating test results to providers and patients
• Participating in outpatient unit-specific training and orientation
• Adhering to scrubs dress code (variable colors permitted)
