About the Role:

As the Assistant Manager, Environmental Compliance, you'll be the go-to leader for emission standards compliance (EPA, CARB, ECCC) as well as broader product safety and chemical compliance areas. This position combines technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and leadership responsibilities to ensure compliance across operations, while also driving proactive strategies to meet evolving environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage EPA and CARB submissions for engines and parts; communicate status updates with global teams.
  • Serve as a core member with EMA and collaborate with international compliance counterparts.

  • Prepare and support EPA's in-use test requirements; audit customer production lines for compliance.
  • Manage emissions labels, certificates, and regulatory documentation.
  • Lead and mentor compliance team members: hiring, performance management, and training.
  • Maintain an organized, secure, and safety-compliant work environment.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3 5 years' experience as a mechanical engineer (emission testing experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of emissions compliance standards, testing procedures, and chemical/materials compliance requirements.
  • Hands-on understanding of gasoline and diesel engine mechanics, design, and diagnostics.
  • Skilled in presenting technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Advanced problem-solving, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite; working knowledge of CAD and SAP.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% (domestic and international, sometimes with short notice).

Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based with hybrid flexibility.
  • Regular exposure to engine testing labs (moderate to very loud noise, vibration, fumes, and moving mechanical parts).
  • Occasional exposure to warehouse environments and handling of chemicals.
  • Requires use of safety equipment (eye and ear protection).
