Slate & Tile Roofing Specialist - Historic Restoration

Elite Craftsmen Wanted - Slate & Tile Only.

Renaissance Historic Exteriors is seeking experienced Slate & Tile Roofing Specialists to join our award-winning historic restoration team. This role is not for general shingle roofers-we are looking for craftsmen with proven experience working on historic slate and tile systems .

Our team restores and preserves landmark buildings including historic homes, churches, universities, and municipal structures throughout the Midwest.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Install, repair, and restore natural slate and clay/concrete tile roofing systems.
• Perform selective tear-offs, slate matching, and detailed repairs.
• Execute traditional fastening, layout, flashing, and waterproofing methods.
• Work with copper and specialty metal flashings (preferred).
• Maintain strict adherence to safety standards and jobsite protocols.
• Travel to project sites across the Midwest (travel required).

Required Qualifications:

• Demonstrated hands-on experience with slate and/or tile roofing.
• Knowledge of historic roofing methods and materials.
• Ability to work at heights on steep-slope systems.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel for regional projects.
