ACCOUNTING CLERK (Full-Time)
Finance Dept. / Water Billing Division
Salaf The hourly pay range for this position is $26.86 - $35.14. The starting pay
Information: range is $26.86 - $29.61, depending on qualifications.
Brief Description Under direct supervision of the Revenue Manager, this position is
of Duties: responsible for performing various data entry and customer service functions
for the Water Billing division, including cash receipt entry, issuing invoices,
meter read uploads, work orders, answering account and billing questions,
etc.; Creates, maintains, and schedules work order appointments for various
utility functions including but not limited to water meter reads, water meter
repiacements, shutoff valve replacements, and leak detections; May be
required to assist other Finance divisions with cash receipting, deposit
creation/reconciliation, front counter staffing, switchboard functions, in
person or telephone customer service, etc.; Performs other work-related
duties, as assigned.
Required High school diploma or equivalent required; Minimum of two years'
Education, experience in office environment, preferably in finance and/or utility billing;
Experience, and Previous accounting/clerical experience preferred, with a good
Knowledqe: understanding of accounting principies and accounts receivable concepts,
especially with utility bii!ing; Wili consider any combination of education and
experience, as outlined above; Must possess excellent interpersonal skills
and be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing;
Attention to detail is critical; Must be able to maintain strict contidentiaiity;
Must be able to read and write English, bi-iingua! skills helpful; Must
exercise good judgement in all matters; Must be familiar with Microsoft
Office Suite applications; Experience with BS&A municipal software a plus;
Must be able to safely operate various office and computer equipment; Must
follow all safety rules and reguiations of the Village.

JOB IDENTIFICATION
Position Title: ACCOUNTING CLERK (FT)

Division: Water Billing
Reports to: Revenue Manager
Supervises: None
JOB PURPOSE
Under direct supervision, this position is responsible for performing various data entry and
customer service functions for the Water Billing division.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Perform data entry functions including cash receipt entry, meter read uploads, work
- Assist utility customers with account and billing questions and issues
- Creates, maintains, and schedules work order appointments for various utility functions
detections, etc.
- Prepare and issue necessary invoices for billed work related to utility billing
- Filing various forms including work orders, meter readings, invoices, etc.
- Assist citizens with water billing questions
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- May be required to assist other Finance divisions with cash receipting, deposit

KNOWLEDGE I SKILLS I ABILITIES
- Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Excel, Word, and

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
The duties performed by this position are representative of sedentary to light work with
frequent exertion of more than 10 pounds of force. The work is regularly in an indoor
environment, in an office-type area, that is quiet except for office equipment background
noises. Wiii be subject to interruptions by telephone callers.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is constantly required to sit, talk,
listen, hear the normal range of sounds, read written reports, use hands to operate essential
office equipment including computer/typewriter keyboard, telephone, etc. Visual acuity is
important. The employee is periodically required to stand and periodicaHy move to other
locations within the building.
