Job Description
As a Senior Product Manager, B2C for our Security BU, you will play a leading role in nurturing and guiding the long-term success of your assigned product lines. You’ll shape thoughtful strategies that align with customer needs and business goals, while fostering collaboration across teams to ensure those plans come to life. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys translating insights into action, building consensus, and helping teams deliver their best work.
The ideal candidate has experience building and executing a strategy for new product development utilizing stage gate processes with a consumer goods product.
You’ll support the full product lifecycle—from early insights and development through launch, performance evaluation, and thoughtful transitions—while also contributing to broader growth initiatives. Your ability to connect with others, lead with empathy, and communicate with clarity will be essential.

Position location: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule based out of Deerfield, IL. Effective mid-2025, Fortune Brands will transition to a new world-class campus in Deerfield, bringing together associates from across our U.S. offices, brands, and functions. The campus will offer vibrant workspaces for collaboration, along with amenities for dining, onsite daycare, fitness and recreation.
What you will be doing
- Shape and lead the strategic direction of assigned product lines to deliver long-term value for customers and the business.
- Develop and manage product plans that guide the full lifecycle—from innovation and launch through performance tracking and retirement.
- Lead cross-functional efforts on pricing strategy, financial performance, and go-to-market execution, partnering closely with Sales, Finance, and Marketing.
- Oversee new product development through the stage-gate process, aligning timelines, teams, and deliverables.
- Strengthen retail and channel partnerships through customer-facing support, training, and collaboration on assortment and positioning.
- Support eCommerce and omnichannel growth by ensuring strong product representation and digital readiness.
- Use consumer insights, field feedback, and market research to identify opportunities, refine messaging, and inform strategic decisions.
- Maintain clear, organized documentation and data to support team alignment and execution.
- Contribute to expansion planning and evaluation of new market or acquisition opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in product management and marketing working with large big box retailers.
- Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional partners and contributing to shared solutions.
- Strong analytical and communication skills to support inclusive decision-making and clear storytelling.
- Proficient with tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SAP or similar systems.
- Willingness & ability to travel up to 25%, primarily to customer locations or industry events.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or advanced degree in Marketing, Business, or related field.
- Experience in both B2C and B2B environments.
- Background in building products, durable goods, or home improvement industries.
- Experience with connected products or smart technologies/.
Additional Information
Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $105,000 USD - $165,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
