Associate Broker - Builder’s Risk (Commercial Construction)

As an Associate Broker on our National Commercial Builder’s Risk Team, you will provide essential support to senior brokers in delivering insurance solutions for property, transit, and testing exposures throughout the construction lifecycle. This role is ideal for individuals starting their career in commercial insurance, with opportunities for mentorship, growth, and exposure to complex projects. This is a hybrid role that requires working onsite 3 days a week from a local Aon office. We are open to considering applications from candidates across the country.

What The Day Will Look Like

  • Assist Brokers and senior team members in the placement of Builder’s Risk policies for commercial construction projects.
  • Support preparation of market submissions and coordinate submission materials with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Help review quotes and binders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct preliminary analysis of project risks and contractual terms under supervision.
  • Maintain organized documentation and ensure coverage aligns with exposures as directed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support account strategies and insurance marketing activities.
  • Participate in client meetings and calls to provide timely, high-quality service and support.
  • Build relationships with insurance carriers through professional communication.
  • Stay informed on market trends and share relevant information with the team.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and teamwork in all activities.

Skills And Experience That Will Lead To Success

  • 0-2 years of experience in commercial brokerage, customer service, or underwriting (internships or related experience preferred).
  • Interest or exposure to Construction Property and Builder’s Risk Insurance is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active Property and Casualty insurance license within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills


Education : Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of industry experience.

  • Must have the willingness to obtain an active Property and Casualty license within four months of hire (90 days)

Pay Transparency Laws

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $65,000 - $95,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of (Location). The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.
