Opportunity

As an EY SAP Technology Presales, you directly help EY & clients with a highly efficient, optimised and precise pursuit proposals that leverage EY’s Technology assets and capabilities to transform and manage their business.

Key Responsibilities

• Client Interaction: As a trusted advisor, harvest requirements from the client and translate these into a solution that meets the objectives and principles agreed with the client. Serve as a liaison among business partners, delivery leadership and pursuit stakeholders, leveraging technical knowledge and deep understanding of both project scope & EY’s technology (focus: SAP‑build technology) capabilities/products.

• Pursuit Shaping: Critical role in the architecture & solution design lifecycle. Provide guidance for the solution & pursuit definition, presales thought leadership, and ascertain technical delivery possibilities & costs involved for top critical business solution implementations – based on EY Technology products, tools & processes.

• Technology Presales Development: Work with Product Owners, Business Owners, EY SAP Delivery Teams and GDS to envision, design and develop pursuit responses. Address identified technology gaps through established channels such as innovation and product capabilities.

Essential Functions

• Presales / Pursuit Architecture & Solutioning for mid to large scale pursuits.

• Thought leadership during deal development, pursuit & close phases.

• Deep understanding of SAP Technology & EY’s SAP drivers, products, tools & processes to deliver value‑added solutions.

• Establish Presales standards, guidelines and procedures to improve success rate for EY SAP alliance.

• Hands‑on E2E solution architecture aligning with client EA and IT Roadmap.

• Shape RFP responses with incisive technical insights.

• Provide objective analysis and actionable recommendation.

• Design As‑is, Transition and Target Architecture roadmaps.

• Address technology gaps via innovation and product teams, proposing mitigation plans.

• Translate emerging technology impact into business value.

• Contribute to Presales community, onboarding new Architects.

• Maintain relationships with delivery teams, ensuring design compliance throughout application lifecycle.

• Interact with stakeholders on presales issues and strategic improvements.

• Coach business owners and pursuit leads on technology presales.

• Document pursuit/deal architecture and technology roadmaps using templates, tooling and reference models.

• Identify, communicate, mitigate and resolve technology issues and risks. Seek step‑out approval when necessary.

• Collaborate with Technology Product Teams to influence product backlogs and priorities.

Skills & Attributes for Success

• Knowledge of industry solutions/products.

• Technical background – deal development, architecture & strategy or technology start‑up experience.

• Experience on large, multi‑technology, data & analytics deals.

• All‑round expertise – Applications, Infrastructure, Digital, Security.

• Technical architecture experience (data, application, integration).

• Responding to RFPs & shaping client proposals.

• Solution write‑up & client presentation skills.

• Excellent English communication; ability to interact with global audiences.

• Strong business acumen and stakeholder trust-building.

• Risk identification and mitigation strategy development.

• Portfolio management awareness (principles, tools, techniques).

• Organised, methodical, initiative‑driven, detail‑oriented.

• Leadership & negotiation skills; influence without authority.

Ideally, You’ll Also

• Individual contributor role – art of influence without authority.

• Experience in offshore/onsite working model across geographies and cultures.

• Agile Delivery and DevOps certifications or experience desirable.

• Architectural certifications like TOGAF or IASA desirable.

• Service management framework knowledge (ITIL V3/V4) advantageous.

• Regular international and domestic travel.

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• 10+ years of technology, business development & thought leadership.

• Comprehensive compensation & benefits package – base salary range in the US: $120,700 to $225,800; NYC metro, Washington State & California (excluding Sacramento): $144,900 to $256,600. Total Rewards include medical & dental coverage, pension & 401(k) plans, and paid time off options.

• Hybrid model – 40‑60% in‑person work for most external, client‑serving roles.

• Flexible vacation policy; time off for EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence.
