Adult services coordinator

Due to the current staff member leaving to take a Library Director position elsewhere, the Shorewood-Troy Library is seeking an innovative, creative full-time Adult Outreach Coordinator to be part of our Adult & Teen Services Team. The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for:

· Plans and provides a variety of community outreach services, including homebound delivery, service to senior living communities, attendance at community events and fairs, and other outreach opportunities.

· Outreach to the local business community and other targeted adult populations.

· Instructs and assists patrons in the use of electronic and print resources.

· Some collection development and maintenance.

· Assists in the troubleshooting of routine technical issues with patron and staff computers.

· Regularly scheduled on the Reference Desk.

· A Library Technical Associate’s Degree (LTA) or equivalent experience.

· Knowledge of current trends in libraries and technology.

Normal office skills such as the ability to work with Microsoft Office products, phone skills, reliable transportation to work, and the ability to lift 25 pounds are also required.

The salary for the position is $1,500 biweekly ($18.75 per hour). Benefits include:

· 160 hours of paid vacation time annually.

· 96 hours of sick time annually; can accumulate up to 320 hours.

· 2 days of personal leave after one year of employment.

· Participation in one of the three employer-offered health insurance plans (a low-deductible PPO, a high-deductible PPO, and an HMO). The Library pays 80% of the cost of the lowest-cost health plan (currently the high-deductible PPO); the opportunity to buy family coverage at cost is also available.

· Participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund, a defined benefit pension fund.
