Job Description
Addison Group is partnering with our client, a healthcare organization in Chicago, to hire a Patient Registration Representative for the overnight shift. This position plays an important role in supporting patient access operations by assisting with patient intake and ensuring registration details are accurate for billing and medical documentation.
The individual in this role will interact with patients in the Emergency Department and Admissions area, gather required information, and ensure patient records are properly entered and updated in the electronic health record system.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary point of contact for patients arriving in the Emergency Department or Admissions area
- Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance details through in-person and phone-based interactions
- Enter and update registration data within the electronic health record system
- Identify incomplete registrations and correct missing information to ensure accurate patient records
- Assist with resolving registration discrepancies that may affect billing or insurance claims
- Communicate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure patient information is accurate and up to date
- Protect patient confidentiality and adhere to all healthcare privacy standards
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in Emergency Department registration or hospital patient access required
- Experience using EPIC or similar electronic health record (EHR) systems strongly preferred
- Strong attention to detail when collecting and entering patient demographic and insurance information
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital environment, especially during overnight hours
- Excellent communication skills when interacting with patients and healthcare staff
- Reliable attendance and strong punctuality record
- Comfortable handling sensitive patient information while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Additional Details
This position will begin as a contract-to-hire assignment with the opportunity to transition to a permanent role based on performance and business needs. The onboarding process may take several weeks depending on system access and training schedules.
Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting and have strong attention to detail when handling patient information.
