Ultrasound Technologist Job Details

• Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist (Sonographer)
• Employment Type: Permanent, On-Site
• Location: Peoria, IL 61637 (Illinois healthcare jobs)
• Setting: Hospital – Level 1 Trauma Center
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts; varied schedule
• Sign-On Bonus: $8,000
• Relocation Bonus: Discussed during interview
• Salary Range: $39.13 - $51.21 per hour (+$2.75/hr night shift, +$2.50/hr weekend shift)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2060-$2340 per week

Ultrasound Technologist Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as an ultrasound technologist or sonographer (5 years preferred)
• Experience in a Level 1 trauma center required (busy Level 2 trauma center experience considered)
• Vascular ultrasound training strongly preferred
• Certification required: ARDMS (RVT, RDMS AB/OB-GYN/PS for pediatric techs), ARRT (RT(S), RT(VS)), or CCI (RVS)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• Proficiency with GE-9, GE-10, and PARKS Unetix ultrasound equipment
• Experience using EPIC and McKesson hospital charting/medication systems
• Ability to work independently, especially during off-shifts and at outpatient healthcare sites
• Must pass comprehensive drug screening (drug-free campus policy)
• New graduates are not eligible for this ultrasound technologist job

Ultrasound Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform general, OB, GYN, and vascular ultrasound procedures in a hospital setting
• Operate advanced ultrasound equipment (GE-9, GE-10, PARKS Unetix) and utilize hospital charting systems (EPIC, McKesson)
• Float to outpatient imaging sites as needed (CFH 91, Glen Park, Cancer Institute, Morton)
• Work independently during certain shifts and at various healthcare locations
• Participate in weekend and rotating shift schedules as required
• Deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced trauma center environment
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, including dress code and drug-free campus requirements
