Licensed Special Education Teacher
* Conduct assessments to identify students' strengths and needs.
* Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) based on assessment data and student goals.
* Monitor and adjust IEPs as necessary to support student progress.
* Maintains a portfolio for each student from the first day of school until the last day with work samples tied to IEP goals. *Specialized Instruction:** Provide specialized instruction tailored to meet the unique learning needs of each student.
* Adapt teaching methods, materials, and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
* Utilize evidence-based practices and interventions to support student learning and engagement.
* Effective utilization of district curriculum. *Collaboration and Communication:** Collaborate effectively with teachers, paraprofessionals, therapists, and other staff members to ensure coordinated and cohesive support for students.
* Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, goals, and strategies for support.
* Participate in team meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events as required. *Classroom Management and Environment:** Establish a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
* Implement behavior management strategies and interventions to promote positive behavior and social skills.
* Maintain a safe and organized classroom setting that fosters respect, understanding, and acceptance. *Qualifications:** Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field.
* Illinois Professional Educator License with LBS1 endorsement or equivalent.
* Previous experience working with students with diverse learning needs.
* Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
