Production Manager (Direct Hire)

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Production Manager to oversee all aspects of our production, scheduling, and shipping operations. This hands-on role is critical for ensuring that all processes run efficiently and that customer needs are met with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with strong organizational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Production & Scheduling:

• Organize and manage the daily production schedule to meet deadlines and optimize workflow.
• Print and distribute production work orders, ensuring the correct specifications are communicated to the manufacturing team.
• Update both the internal machine and production schedule, and the customer's production schedule to maintain accurate and current information.
• Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to respond to delays, rush orders, or other issues.
• Communicate with production staff to resolve issues and ensure all team members have the necessary resources and information.

Shipping & Logistics:

• Prepare and print pick tickets and Bills of Lading (BOLs) accurately for all outgoing shipments.
• Oversee the coordination of shipping activities to ensure products are dispatched on time and according to customer requirements.
• Collaborate with the warehouse and logistics teams to coordinate all packaging and transportation needs.

Customer Communication:

• Act as a primary point of contact for customer communication regarding production updates, shipment tracking, and delivery timelines.
• Provide timely and proactive updates to customers on the status of their production orders.
• Answer customer inquiries and resolve any production or shipping-related issues in a professional and efficient manner.

Reporting & Analysis:

• Generate and maintain production reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Report on production status and potential issues to upper management.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a hands-on production management or supervisory role.
• Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Proficiency in production planning, scheduling, and inventory management.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and production teams.
• Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or other production scheduling software is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven manufacturing environment.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to managing unexpected issues.
• Knowledge of standard shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOLs).
