The Restorative Justice Coordinator leads worker and community outreach to provide no cost legal resources across Will and Cook County and oversees the Record Relief Program. This role oversees the full continuum of case management, from intake through resolution; including workshop facilitation, fingerprinting accompaniment, coordination with legal partners for referrals, and court hearing support.
The Coordinator ensures participants receive consistent, informed, and compassionate guidance throughout the process. The Coordinator is also responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing clinics and program events, ensuring they are well-organized, accessible, and aligned with program goals.
The Coordinator supervises a team of part-time Community Navigators and other support staff, delegating tasks, providing ongoing support, and conducting regular check-ins to ensure effective service delivery. This position also leads community partner outreach, building and maintaining relationships with legal and community based organizations, and advancing advocacy efforts to expand access to resources for individuals impacted by the justice system. Additionally, the Coordinator supports restorative justice programming by facilitating trainings for youth and adults, and connecting community members to resources related to legal services, health and safety, and workplace rights. The role works closely with the Program Director and a collaborative team committed to advancing equity and improving outcomes for impacted communities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
● Work collaboratively with Restorative Justice team and Program Director to implement regional outreach plan based on respective geographic region and outreach areas
● Work collaboratively across the Programs Department to support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of program initiatives
● Have regular check-ins with Program Director
● Promote WWJ’s Ongoing Know Your Rights and Emergency Response Efforts
● Develop and execute field plan
● Distribute Know Your Rights and PPE Materials
● Conduct worker and community member outreach efforts
● Lead one-on-one and group meetings with workers, stakeholders, program participants and community members
● Cultural competency with Black and Brown communities
● Prepare periodic reports for Program Director on outreach efforts and community activities and case management
● Maintain accurate information on case management. Up-to-date files and status on all cases and outreach efforts
● Delegate calls, accompaniments and appropriate department related activities to community navigators
● Scan and upload applications and client documents to WWJ’s case management system
● Maintain calendars in the case management system and schedule advice appointments with WWJ advocates and stakeholders as appropriate
● Assist with client contact to ensure cases are regularly updated, time is assigned, and clients are aware of timelines and requirements
● Assist with general WWJ intake as needed
● Work under guidance of organizing team to support workplace action and campaigns
● Perform other duties as assigned
● Have check ins with legal partners on case status
● Provide accompaniments including but not limited to fingerprinting, and court hearings
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalency. At least one year of community organizing, campaign experience,
advocacy or social work. Some level of Spanish-language proficiency is preferred but not required.

● Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs, and database management tools.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
● Accepts performance-based critique and directions;
● Works well under pressure, meets grant reporting deadlines and handles stress;
● Outreach duties require work during regular office hours and some nights and weekends.
Additionally, employee must be able to drive or travel within Will & Cook County.
● Employee must be able to work in a moderately noisy and crowded work environment without an expectation of privacy.
Salary is $54,000 - $58,000. Benefits include employer contribution toward health insurance premiums, access to dental insurance (employee-paid), 401(k) retirement savings plan, monthly vehicle stipend plus mileage reimbursement for work travel, and cell phone reimbursement.
