Inventory Control Assistant
In this pivotal position at the heart of retail operations, the Inventory Control Assistant plays a key role in ensuring smooth back-office support for buyers while maintaining accurate inventory and financial records. Acting as a crucial liaison between the store and the Finance Office, this role is responsible for processing vendor invoices, tracking merchandise issues, and supporting inventory audits and reporting. Position Summary: Oversee inventory management and provide back-office support for buyers. Serve as the store’s liaison to the Business Office for matters involving invoice payment. Essential Functions:
- Enter receiving data into the store’s POS system on a daily basis. Contact and follow up with vendors on damaged or defective merchandise, backorders, and cancellations. Manage broken or defective merchandise in the store.
- Prepare end-of-month reports and other reports for the Business Office.
- Submit vendor invoices and credit memos into the accounts payable software program
- Review the Detail Trial Balance report on a regular basis and resolve any discrepancies with the Business Office.
- Assist the Store Managers with the annual physical inventory.
- Coordinate cycle counts with Store Managers and make needed adjustments.
- Prepare and reconcile interdepartmental charges.
- Participate in achieving departmental goals by performing special projects or assignments.
- May assist customers on the sales floor and process transactions as needed.

- Other duties as assigned.
- Physical Demands: Requires some physical activity: limited lifting and carrying (up to 15 lbs.), prolonged periods of sitting in front of a computer.
- Work Environment: Office and retail environment.
- Equipment: General office equipment, point of sale (POS) system.
- Schedule: Work may require occasional weekend, holiday, and evening hours.
