Gallagher Paint & Paper is looking for a true Lead Painter / Foreman to help build the best painting company in the Chicagoland market.

We are not looking for an average painter.

We want a high-level craftsman and field leader with 5+ years of professional experience who can run high-end residential jobs, lead crews, protect quality, and represent our brand at the highest level.

This role is for someone who takes pride in perfect prep, flawless finishes, clean jobsites, strong communication, and holding the line on standards.

If you have union-level discipline, high-end residential experience, cabinet finishing knowledge, wallpaper skills, and leadership ability , this is the opportunity to grow with a serious company.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

As Lead Painter / Foreman, you will own the jobsite from start to finish:

• Lead painters and helpers on daily jobsite execution
• Ensure prep is done correctly every time
• Deliver top-tier interior and exterior finishes
• Oversee cabinet refinishing and fine finish trim work
• Maintain wallpaper and specialty finish standards
• Manage masking, containment, cleanliness, and protection
• Communicate with project managers and homeowners
• Keep jobs on schedule and on budget
• Identify issues before they become callbacks
• Train and develop production painters
• Complete final walkthroughs to Gallagher standards
• Maintain a clean, safe, highly professional jobsite

What We Need

• 5+ years of professional painting experience
• Proven experience leading crews
• High-end residential painting background strongly preferred
• Cabinet refinishing / spray finish experience highly preferred
• Wallpaper installation experience preferred
• Strong prep, patching, skim, sanding, and finish systems
• Ability to lead by example
• Excellent professionalism in occupied homes
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Must be dependable, organized, and detail obsessed
• Union experience is a major plus
