Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to drive commercial growth, strategic account development, and market expansion within a high-growth manufacturing environment. This role requires strong communication, technical sales, and executive presentation capabilities, along with proven success in solution-based industrial sales. Experience within the metal cutting machine tool, CNC machining, or advanced manufacturing sector is highly preferred.
This position supports a highly respected, innovation-driven organization serving customers across aerospace, defense, energy, transportation, heavy manufacturing, infrastructure, and emerging industrial markets.

Key Responsibilities
- Drive revenue growth through strategic account development and new business acquisition initiatives.
- Expand market presence across aerospace, defense, energy, transportation, and industrial manufacturing sectors.
- Identify emerging opportunities aligned with advanced manufacturing, automation, and precision machining technologies.
- Build and maintain relationships with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, manufacturing leaders, and executive decision-makers.
- Lead complex, solution-based sales cycles involving capital equipment and technical manufacturing applications.
- Deliver technical and commercial presentations tailored to customer operational requirements and business objectives.
- Establish sales targets, KPIs, forecasting processes, and accountability measures.
- Maintain disciplined pipeline management and forecasting accuracy utilizing CRM platforms and sales analytics tools.
- Leverage expertise in CNC machining centers, turning, milling, metal cutting systems, and manufacturing automation solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering, applications, and technical support teams to develop customized customer solutions.
- Support product demonstrations, process improvement initiatives, machining optimization discussions, and ROI analysis.
- Monitor competitive market conditions, pricing strategies, and manufacturing industry trends.
- Provide leadership feedback regarding customer needs, product improvements, and market opportunities.
- Represent the organization at customer meetings, trade shows, manufacturing expos, and industry events.
- Maintain regular travel to customer sites and strategic accounts throughout the assigned territory.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Communications, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive sales experience within machine tools, metal cutting, industrial manufacturing, or related technical sales environments preferred.
- Demonstrated success driving growth within complex, technical, capital equipment sales organizations.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and executive-level presentation skills.
- Ability to translate technical manufacturing capabilities into commercial business value.
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and customer engagement skills.
- Experience managing long sales cycles and high-value industrial equipment opportunities.
- Proficiency utilizing CRM systems, forecasting tools, and sales reporting platforms.
- Ability to travel approximately 40% – 60% as required.

Compensation & Benefits
- Approximate starting salary range: $80,000 – $100,000 annually
