Crossroads Operations Manager Position

Position: Crossroads Operations Manager
Status: Full Time
Hours: 12:00 pm to 8:00pm (hours may vary)
Salary Range: $28.29 to $40.26
Reports to: Assistant Director of Operations
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONThe Operations Manager will be responsible for the management of the operations of the facility including but not limited to week day rentals, housekeeping, special events, event management, front desk administration and reporting. The Operations Manager will also work closely with other departments in hiring, training, and staff scheduling. This position will work weekdays 12pm – 8pm and is responsible for weekend closing hours for events.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Hiring and training facility team members
- Oversee front-line team members to ensure compliance with Village of New Lenox policies and additional applicable laws
- Oversee the administration and high level of detail required in the organization of rentals & events
- Primary contact for local renters and event staff
- Manages 5-10 part time staff
- Works directly with marketing specialist to increase social media traction
- Oversees all special events, birthday party rentals and staff scheduling
- Ensures facility and staff on readiness for events and rentals
- Serves as Manager-on-Duty
- Educates staff on proper event and safety procedures
- Contributes to facility business plan and execution
- Performs related tasks or other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
Ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, make decisions based on financial considerations, project impact of proposed actions, implement recommendation and write reports and present information. Exemplify traits that reflect the Village's culture with a focus on customer service. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE
Sports operational management experience or administrative experience. Knowledge
about the various aspects of sport events. A bachelor's degree in recreation, sports management or related field and three plus years of experience; or equivalent combination of training and/or experience.
CPR/First Aid certifications required within three months of employment.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSDuties are generally performed in both outdoor and indoor settings. This is medium to heavy work requiring the exertion of fifty (50) pounds of force occasionally, up to twenty (20) pounds of force frequently, and up to ten (10) pounds of force constantly to move, lift and push objects. Work requires climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, pushing and pulling. This position is subject to outside environmental conditions, including extreme cold, extreme heat, hazards, and atmospheric conditions.
