Staff accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to manage core accounting and payroll functions including invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, employee payroll, and vendor payments. This position also supports administrative tasks such as preparing manufacturer certificates of origin, coordinating tax and credit card payments, and working closely with Human Resources on payroll and benefits matters.

Pay Rate: $28–$33/hr

Duties:

Perform full-cycle bookkeeping and monthly bank reconciliations

Process payroll using ADP Workforce Now

*
Manage accounts payable and ensure timely vendor payments

*
Oversee accounts receivable and ensure prompt collection

*
Prepare and post journal entries for assets, liabilities, and other account transactions

*
Monitor accounting records to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and adequate supporting documentation

*
Reconcile financial reports and investigate discrepancies as needed

*
Maintain the general ledger, chart of accounts, and accounting filing system

*
Ensure compliance with internal policies, GAAP, and applicable regulations

*
Support process improvement initiatives related to accounting procedures and reporting

*
Coordinate tax payments, credit card reconciliations, and certificates of origin

*
Collaborate with HR to resolve payroll and benefit-related issues

*
Maintain strong internal controls over accounting operations

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent relevant experience

Proficiency in MS Office (Excel and Word)

*
Experience using Sage accounting software

*
Experience with ADP Workforce Now for payroll processing

*
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
