Kitchen Supervisor
East Bank Club, a renowned fitness, sports, and dining facility in the heart of Chicago, is seeking a talented and experienced Kitchen Supervisor to join our dynamic culinary team. As a Kitchen Supervisor, you will work closely with the Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef and Sous Chefs to ensure the smooth operation of our culinary department. You will be responsible for overseeing and assisting with the preparation and presentation of high-quality food, as well as providing guidance and support to the culinary team.
Supervise and coordinate activities of culinary team members ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service. Prepare and execute food to the highest standard maintaining consistency and exceptional taste. Train and develop team members to enhance their culinary skills and knowledge. Assist in managing food production, ordering, and inventory control. Collaborate with other departments to ensure successful execution of events and special functions. Uphold the club's commitment to culinary excellence and exceptional service.
Rate of Pay: $24.00. This is considered a Lead Cook position.
Full-time availability:Must be available to work varying shifts 6:00am-5:00pm, Sunday-Saturday
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate activities of culinary team members.
- Ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service.
- Supports build of daily prep and items lists, delegating to employees as necessary.
- Actively helps to support operation and fill holes as necessary to ensure smooth service.
- Prepare and execute food to the highest standard maintaining consistency and exceptional taste.
- Coach team members to enhance their culinary skills and knowledge.
- Assist in managing food production, ordering, and inventory control.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure successful execution of events and special functions.
- Task Completion: Ensure that no team member leaves until all assigned tasks are completed, maintaining a thorough and efficient work environment.
- Ability to limit and control waste through maintaining proper prep levels and daily tracking of waste through provided waste logs.
- Uphold the club's commitment to culinary excellence and exceptional service.
- Assist in implementing and enforcing food safety and sanitation regulations.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in a culinary supervisory role.
- Strong culinary background with knowledge of diverse cooking techniques and cuisines.
- Excellent leadership and organizational abilities.
- Ability to coach and develop team members.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Passion for culinary excellence and commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Experience with inventory management and cost control is a plus.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a team-oriented mindset.
- Demonstrate the ability to stand/walk for extended periods, climb stairs, and navigate various areas of operations.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
