Behavioral Health RN Job Details

• Location: Peoria, IL 61614 (Illinois healthcare jobs)
• Facility: Senior Behavioral Health Unit
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens (Travel Registered Nurse)
• Start Date: September 2, 2025
• End Date: November 29, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour day shifts)
• Hours per Week: 36 (3x12-hour shifts)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2130-$2190
• On-Site Nursing Position

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years of behavioral health nursing experience
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Active Illinois RN license in good standing
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Crisis Prevention Certification (CPI)
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills
• Ability to manage unit keys and maintain security throughout the assignment

Behavioral Health RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Senior Behavioral Health Unit
• Conduct initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Implement, monitor, and modify care plans based on patient needs and ongoing evaluation
• Maintain accurate documentation for all patient care activities
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members for comprehensive patient care
• Promote patient and staff safety by identifying and reporting hazards
• Offer constructive feedback and support professional growth of nursing peers
• Fulfill departmental competencies and participate in ongoing nursing education
