Restaurant General Manager – Upscale Late-Night Cocktail Bar

Location: Chicago, IL

Salary Range: $80,000 – $95,000 (DOE)

We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Restaurant General Manager to lead operations for a high-energy, upscale late-night cocktail bar in Chicago. This is a concept known for its sophisticated atmosphere, innovative cocktails, and exceptional guest experience. We’re also open to considering an experienced Assistant General Manager eager to step up into a GM role.

What You’ll Do:

• Oversee all aspects of daily restaurant and bar operations, with a strong presence on the floor during peak hours and late nights (must be able to close 3 nights per week).

• Manage, coach, and inspire a high-performing team to deliver outstanding hospitality and maintain service standards.

• Drive financial performance through budgeting, forecasting, cost controls, and P&L management.

• Lead business development initiatives to grow revenue and enhance the bar’s market presence.

• Ensure operational excellence, compliance with health and safety regulations, and consistent quality in food and beverage execution.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven leadership experience as a General Manager or high-performing Assistant General Manager in an upscale bar, restaurant, or hospitality environment.

• Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze reports, control costs, and maximize profitability.

• Deep understanding of late-night service dynamics and the cocktail bar scene.

• A business-savvy mindset with the creativity to attract and retain guests.

• Hands-on leadership style, excellent communication skills, and the ability to motivate a diverse team.

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and late nights (including regular closing shifts).
