Position Overview

Centralia Correctional Center is looking to hire an Account Technician I. The ideal candidate is an individual who can multitask and prioritize daily duties. They will enter property and record transactions, assist the timekeeping clerk, and process inventory transactions. In addition, they will review and verify printouts of inventory, and assist other Account Technicians, as needed. Essential Functions

  • Enters property transactions and records transactions into Systems Applications Products (SAP) in Data Processing.
  • Assists the Timekeeping Clerk.
  • Processes inventory transactions.
  • Reviews and verifies monthly computer printouts of the storeroom inventory.
  • Assists all other Account Technicians as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college and completion of an approved training course or three (3) years of related clerical bookkeeping experience.
  • Qualifying state employees in the employee Upward Mobility Program may complete combinations of specific proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the stated requirements for this class.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefers at least one (1) year of working experience in pricing commodities.
  • Prefers at least one (1) year of working experience in reconciling payroll time report.
  • Prefers at least one (1) year of working experience in timekeeping of 200+ employees.
  • Prefers at least one (1) year of working experience reconciling institutions property records.
  • Prefers at least one (1) year experience verifying and reconciling monthly computer printouts of storeroom inventory.
  • Prefers at least one (1) year of working experience in a business office.
  • Prefers at least one (1) year of working experience in accounting.

Conditions of Employment

  • Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
  • Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
