PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

The Specialist, Portfolio Governance, ensures the effective governance, compliance, and transparency of the Wholesale Technology Portfolio. Reporting to the Manager, Portfolio Governance & Operations, this position focuses on implementing governance frameworks, supporting project portfolio management (PPM) tools, and ensuring compliance with project management processes.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Governance Framework Implementation:

  • Assist with the development and implementation of governance frameworks, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and strategic objectives.
  • Monitor adherence to governance processes and procedures, identifying and reporting on gaps or areas for improvement.
  • Provide recommendations to enhance governance policies and ensure compliance across the portfolio with a focus on enabling stakeholder success.

PPM Tool Support and Optimization:

  • Provide support for the Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) tool, facilitating its effective use across the organization.
  • Maintain documentation and training materials to support the adoption and usage of the PPM tool.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving issues related to the PPM tool, working closely with technical teams as needed, always prioritizing user support and empowerment.

Data Accuracy and Reporting:

  • Complete routine checks to ensure the project and portfolio data is accurate and up to date within the PPM tool and other reporting systems.
  • Generate and distribute reports on project portfolio performance, metrics, and compliance for stakeholders and leadership.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to improve data quality and accessibility, serving as a resource for their success.

Process Improvement and Support:

  • Identify and support improvements to governance processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of governance practices.
  • Provide support for portfolio-related initiatives, such as change requests, prioritization efforts, and risk management.

Change Management Oversight:

  • Conduct CAB meetings with stakeholders to facilitate the review and approval of changes, ensuring alignment with governance and operational standards.
  • Develop and maintain documentation and processes to support effective change management across the portfolio.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Serve as a resource for governance-related inquiries and provide guidance to stakeholders as needed.
  • Assist in preparing materials for portfolio reviews and leadership presentations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance portfolio governance and operations.
  • Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply. Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in portfolio governance, project management, or a related role.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any required certifications.
  • Demonstrates a foundational understanding of governance processes, including compliance, reporting, and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with portfolio management tools, such as ServiceNow SPM, and portfolio governance frameworks.
  • Proven ability to manage data accuracy and develop actionable reports.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on identifying and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Service-oriented approach to governance, with the ability to foster trust and collaboration and build positive, productive relationships with a wide variety of key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
