Our Company
WaterSaver Faucet Co. manufactures precision valves and faucets for use in science laboratories. We are a third-generation family-owned business and the worldwide leader in our industry.
We are seeking an experienced Materials Manager to oversee our supply chain, reporting to the Operations Director of the company. In this role you will be responsible for planning, procuring, stocking, and distributing materials to meet production needs and ensure operational efficiency. Specific responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing materials management strategies based on production requirements and demand.
- Researching and sourcing vendors, negotiating contracts, purchasing materials according to specifications and demand, and managing supplier performance.
- Monitoring inventory levels, ensuring accuracy, and optimizing stock to avoid overstock or shortages.
- Coordinating and supervising the receiving, warehousing, and distribution of materials and finished products.
- Developing and implementing strategies for efficient material flow, cost reduction, and value creation.
- Working with internal departments like engineering, production, and sales to align supply needs with production schedules and customer demand.
- Recruiting, supervising, training, and mentoring a team of materials professionals, including buyers and inventory specialists.
- Enforcing company policies, safety standards (such as OSHA and 5S), and regulatory requirements within all material handling and storage activities.
We require a hands-on professional with initiative, self-confidence, and the ability to think through problems and implement solutions. Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:
- B.A. or B.S. degree in supply chain, manufacturing, procurement, logistics, or operations management.
- 5+ years’ experience in materials management, procurement, or supply chain role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in ERP and MRP software.
- Strong computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
- Proven ability to identify problems, think through options, and implement solutions.
