Job Details Position Summary
The Senior Estimator will lead the estimating process for a variety of commercial construction projects, ensuring accurate cost evaluation and supporting strategic decision-making. This role requires strong analytical skills, deep construction cost knowledge, and collaborative problem-solving to prepare competitive, high-quality estimates. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage comprehensive cost estimating efforts for pre-construction and bidding phases.
- Review project documents, specifications, and drawings to identify scope, risks, and cost impacts.
- Prepare detailed and accurate quantity takeoffs, cost analyses, and project budgets.
- Collaborate with project leadership, subcontractors, and vendors to obtain and evaluate bids.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and recommend cost-effective alternatives.
- Maintain estimating databases, historical cost information, and project benchmarks.
- Support proposal preparation and participate in client presentations as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Five or more years of experience in commercial construction estimating or a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in construction cost estimating software and Microsoft Office tools.
- Excellent understanding of construction methods, materials, labor costs, and market pricing.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Experience with construction management or estimating platforms such as Procore or similar systems.
- Proven ability to produce accurate, competitive estimates for complex, multi-trade commercial projects.
