Description

The Infrastructure Specialist III, is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring systems and networks. The individual will ensure the availability of the network and infrastructure by utilizing available management tools to develop statistical reports concerning trend analysis and system availability. The Infrastructure Specialist III will take corrective action, when necessary, and perform routine system maintenance. The position is also responsible for assisting in support of the server and application environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitors, researches and proactively notifies technical or management staff regarding network thresholds, alarms, routers, and visual events to ensure systems and network availability is maintained for PC's, communications equipment on the Wide Area Network (WAN), servers on the Local Area Network (LAN), and printers at all times.
  • Configures servers and network equipment according to specified guidelines. Defines and adjusts monitoring tools to accommodate new systems.
  • Installs upgrades and maintains applications as assigned. Assists with application implementations in order to maximize monitoring and reporting capabilities.
  • Identifies and researches existing problems and monitors the system for potential problems in order to resolve or prevent potential disruptions of system availability.
  • Resolves medium to complex issues with the network or systems.
  • Mentors more junior team members in the specifics of managing and troubleshooting the network and firewalls.
  • Assists in planning and executing disaster recovery testing and recovery efforts.
  • Creates and maintains network and infrastructure diagrams.
  • Operates according to EquiTrust's change and problem management methodologies.
  • Supports the Information Technology team and/or other departments on an as-needed basis.
  • Willingly takes on additional responsibilities as requested in order to accomplish department and Company objectives.
  • Actively participates and contributes to the goals and objectives of the Company by working collaboratively and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Analytical, attention to detail, problem-solving and accuracy skills.
  • Strong ability to apply troubleshooting principles to determine the root causes of issues and resolve them.
  • Extensive experience in Cisco-based VOIP-based phone systems (WebEx Calling) and functions required.
  • Extensive experience in WebEx Contact Center preferred.
  • Extensive experience in call recording solutions preferred.
  • Intermediate LAN & WAN administration experience required.
  • Intermediate understanding of SIP technologies required.
  • Experience in call flow and IVR configurations is preferred.
  • Intermediate understanding of Audio/Video conferencing technologies preferred.
  • Experience with electronic faxing services is preferred.
  • Experience with a variety of system architectures and security concepts/techniques (including authentication mechanisms, operating systems, DNS, NFS, SSH, Firewalls, IIS, Apache, and security applications capabilities)
  • Good oral and written communication skills required.

Training or Work Experience:

  • If a High School Diploma or equivalent, a minimum of 8 years of network administration or troubleshooting maintenance experience is required.
  • If an Associate's Degree, a minimum of 6 years of network administration or troubleshooting maintenance experience is required.
  • If a Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 4 years of network administration or troubleshooting maintenance experience is required.

Education:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Associates Degree - Computer or related field of study preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree - Computer or related field of study preferred.
  • Certificate from a Technical or Trade School - Computer or related field of study preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Business Travel: Infrequent Travel (less than 5% of the time).
  • Given that the Company's systems must be supported twenty-four hours a day, this position has on-call responsibilities, including work being performed outside of normal business hours.
