• Job Title: PACU Registered Nurse – Locum Tenens (Travel Nursing)
• Location: Chicago, IL 60612 (Illinois healthcare jobs)
• Facility Setting: Level I Trauma Center, Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens, travel contract
• Start Date: September 2, 2025
• End Date: December 2, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 4x10-hour day shifts (9:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2050 - $2100
• EMR System: Cerner
• Parking: $2/day at nearby facility with shuttle service

PACU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (required at submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience as a PACU RN in a Level I trauma setting
• 1-2 years of critical care nursing experience required
• Ventilator management experience required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (COVID-19: no exemptions; Flu: medical/religious exemptions only)
• Ability to float to other units within a 50-mile radius as needed
• Strong compliance and responsiveness to deadlines

PACU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality post-anesthesia nursing care to patients in a fast-paced Level I Trauma Center
• Monitor, assess, and manage patients recovering from anesthesia, including trauma and critical care cases
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Float to other hospital units within nursing scope as required
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR
• Comply with all facility policies, including floating, time-off, and compliance requirements
