Title: Process Owner - Acrylic Columns
Location: Bradley, IL
Duration: 6 months Pay Rate: $40.25 - $67.00/hour (depending upon experience)
Overview
-
Seeking three part-time contractors (~20 hours/week each) to support three distinct capital equipment projects or possibly 1 - 2 full-time that can support multiple projects.

The Process Owner will lead key process transformation, design, and improvement efforts across three distinct equipment-related projects.
-
Requires close collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality, and Facilities & Engineering to ensure systems meet internal customer, business, and patient needs.
-
Will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and provide coaching, documentation ownership, and compliance support throughout the lifecycle of each project.
Responsibilities
Candidates may be assigned to one or more of the following projects based on expertise:
Lift Systems (Immediate Need)
-
Replacing aging stationary lifts used to elevate acrylic columns.
-
New design includes modern safety features and an agitator lift.
-
Must have experience qualifying lift systems.
-
Experience with mechanical lifting equipment in biopharma environments
-
Emphasis on ergonomics, safety, and GMP compliance
Acrylic Columns Upgrade (Starts in January)
-
Replacing existing acrylic columns with improved hygienic design. Columns are ordered; implementation begins in January.

Familiarity with column design and qualification protocols, and assembly
-
Integration into purification processes
Bulk Chemical Delivery Systems (Major Project/Design Phase)
-
Transitioning from manual chemical handling to automated bulk delivery.
-
Focused on safety and efficiency.
-
Knowledge of bulk chemical handling, piping, and delivery systems
-
Experience with acids, bases, and cleaning/passivation agents
Additional Responsibilities
-
URS Development _:_ Collaborate with design teams to define user requirements. Align system functionality with operational, safety, and compliance needs
-
Design Review & Risk Assessment : Participating in P&ID reviews, HAZOP, FMEA. Provide feedback on usability and accessibility
-
Equipment & System Testing Support : Support FAT, SAT, and CQV activities (IV, OV, IOQ, PQ). Report functional gaps or deviations

Training & Operational Readiness : Contribute to SOP and Work Instruction development. Support hands-on training and knowledge transfer

System Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement _:_ Identify performance deviations and collaborate on improvements

Compliance & Documentation Review : Ensure GMP/GDP compliance in documentation. Support audit and inspection readiness
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor's in Mechanical, Chemical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent)
-
Minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience with BS; Minimum of 2+ years with MS

Hands-on experience with Acrylic columns (assembly, torque specs, qualification)

Prior experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing preferred, especially for cleanroom familiarity.

Strong knowledge of GMP, FDA, and regulatory standards

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical writing
-
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
-
Ability to consult with process owners and support documentation updates.
-
Relevant equipment experience (lifts, columns, chemical systems) is essential.

Bulk chemical systems (delivery design, cleanroom integration).
Additional Information

Schedule: Part-time (1 candidate for each project) OR open to a full-time candidate who can support multiple projects
-
Onsite; remote flexibility may be allowed case-by-case.

Project durations are estimated at 6 months
-
Flexibility is key; hours may not be evenly distributed across the week.
