Marketing Data Engineer
Awesomely is seeking a talented Martech Data Architect with expertise in Paid Media to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in optimizing our paid media campaigns across platforms such as Google Ads, Meta Ads, and TikTok Ads by leveraging data-driven insights and advanced analytics. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in data engineering, marketing analytics, and paid media performance, ensuring seamless tracking, reporting, and attribution while driving measurable results. The perfect candidate will be a collaborative teamplayer, with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to easily pivot between competing priorities.

What You’ll Do
Data Infrastructure & Optimization
Audit and manage data systems, including ETL workflows and databases (BigQuery, TimescaleDB, etc.), to ensure efficient data processing and storage.
Optimize server-side event tracking (e.g., Facebook CAPI, TikTok Events API) for accurate attribution and deduplication.
Evaluate and implement scalable data solutions to reduce costs while maintaining high performance.
Thoroughly document all systems and processes.
Technical Data Pipelines Responsibilities:
Proficiency in designing scalable ETL pipelines using tools like Apache Airflow or AWS Glue.
Strong knowledge of data extraction methods from APIs, databases, or log files.
Expertise in transforming raw data into standardized formats through techniques like cleaning, validation, normalization, and type conversion.
Experience with real-time streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka or Flink for processing large-scale data efficiently.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) for building distributed systems.
Visualization Responsibilities:
Advanced skills in creating interactive dashboards using Tableau or Power BI alongside Looker Studio.
Ability to apply storytelling techniques to transform complex datasets into actionable visual narratives tailored for nontechnical stakeholders.
Knowledge of effective visual design principles such as layout optimization, color theory, and chart selection for clarity and impact.
Experience integrating multiple datasets into unified visualizations for cross-platform campaign analysis.
Paid Media Analytics
Analyze paid media performance across platforms (Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads) to identify trends and actionable insights.
Develop custom dashboards using tools like Looker Studio for real-time reporting tailored to KPIs such as ROAS, creative performance, and media buyer efficiency.
Collaborate with marketing teams to align analytics strategies with business objectives.
Leverage AI tools to automate anomaly detection, forecast campaign outcomes, and recommend optimizations for creative testing or media buying strategies.
Ensure robust tracking of conversion events across paid media platforms using UTMs, parameters, and server-side integrations.
Validate data accuracy across CRM systems and ad platforms to ensure clean attribution models.
Collaboration & Communication
Translate complex technical insights into actionable recommendations for stakeholders such as media buyers, copywriters, and executives.
Proactively identify data anomalies or gaps and propose solutions to maintain campaign integrity.
Success Metrics
Accurate server-side event tracking across all paid media channels without gaps or mismatches.
Real-time dashboards that load quickly with actionable insights for decision-making.
Reduced infrastructure costs while improving analytics performance.
Enhanced ROI through optimized paid media strategies informed by robust data analysis.
What You Need to Succeed
5+ years of experience in Martech analytics, paid media optimization, or data engineering roles with a focus on marketing.
SQL, Python, TypeScript, and API integrations for marketing platforms (e.g., Facebook CAPI, TikTok Events API).
Experience with real-time data streaming technologies like Apache Kafka or Flink for efficient processing of large-scale datasets.
Knowledge of effective visual design principles and storytelling techniques to translate complex data into clear insights for stakeholders.
Strong understanding of paid media metrics (CTR, ROAS) and attribution methodologies.
Familiarity with AI-driven analytics tools for predictive modeling is a bonus.
A collaborative teamplayer, with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to quickly pivot and manage competing priorities.
