Staff Accountant

Chicago based construction firm is seeking a Staff Accountant.

The Staff Accountant position is responsible for assisting in recording journal entries, account reconciliations and detailed reports. They will also assist with month end close, audits, payroll and special projects.

Responsibilities:

· Assist in preparing financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements

· Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data

· Perform weekly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of working cash

· Assist in the project budgeting process by providing financial data

· Work closely with AP to ensure statements are reviewed and invoices are entered and coded correctly.

· Work closely with AR to ensure project compliance is up to date and billings completed in timely fashion.

· Assist in payroll entry, job costing, and reconciliation.

· Knowledge of LCP Tracker and entry of certified payroll

Skills:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred (or equivalent experience)

· Ability and willingness to work in a collaborative team environment

· Strong mathematical, accounting, and analytical skills, with demonstrated critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

· Ability to multi-task, and work in an organized, detailed manner, with multiple tasks at once.

· Process-oriented with strong time management skills

· Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

· Knowledge of Payroll entry, coding, and tie outs a plus

· Proficient in Microsoft Office skills

· Knowledge of Sage Contractor 100 is a MUST!!!!! Pro core is a plus

Experience level:

· 3+ years of construction experience required!!!! No exceptions!
