CNC Machine Operator – PythonX

Job Title: CNC Machine Operator – PythonX

Location: Gurnee area
Job Type and Duration: Contract to Hire (approximately 6 months)
Pay Rate: $22 - $28/hr

Our client is a leading AISC certified manufacturing company specializing in structural steel fabrication. As they continue to grow, they are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced CNC Machine Operator to join their fabrication team. This role specifically involves operating a Lincoln Electric PythonX CNC Plasma system.

Job Description: We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced CNC Operator who has expertise in operating CNC machines, specifically those equipped with Plasma technology. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of CNC operations, excellent technical skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

• Operate CNC machines with Plasma technology, including Lincoln Electric PythonX, according to specifications

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders

• Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning and make necessary adjustments

• Inspect finished products for quality assurance

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during the machining process

• Maintain a clean and organized work area

• Adhere to all safety guidelines and program requirements

• Perform and/or assist with preventive maintenance and cleaning of equipment

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in machining is preferred

• Proven experience as a CNC Operator, specifically with Plasma machines

• Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings

• Strong knowledge of CNC programming, nesting, and machine operations

• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

• Strong communication skills
