As a Closer at Rocket Close, you are the trusted point of contact guiding clients and real estate agents through their closing transactions with confidence and clarity. You combine meticulous attention to detail with exceptional client service to ensure every closing runs smoothly and every document is executed flawlessly. Your expertise in settlement processes, fund management, and title clearance directly impacts the success of each transaction and the satisfaction of everyone involved. This role requires in office expectations in our Palatine, IL and Downers Grove, IL offices.
About the Role
The main point of contact for the buyers, sellers, and agents
Manage each file from start to finish and make sure each team member is completing their workflow
Ensure that the process stays organized and all contract contingencies are being met
Obtain pertinent info from customers/agents for the title department to clear the title
Provide strong customer service and title knowledge to deliver a great customer experience, and guide clients and agents through every step of the closing process
Answer our main phone line, explain title quotes, title insurance, and the settlement process to current and potential customers
Overseeing title and closing for all residential projects/clients in your market
Managing assigned tasking for yourself and your support team
Verifying title clearance of assigned files prior to closing
Working with the support team on title defects, issues, as well as a review of all entity documents for sufficiency.
Reviewing closing documents prior to, and after, closing to ensure completeness and accuracy
Ensure the file is balanced before sent to the funding
Ensure that documents for recording are complete and ready to record before sending to post-closing
Attend and manage real estate closings, serving as the primary point of contact for clients, real estate agents, and lenders throughout the transaction
Review closing instructions, verify all funds received are good funds, confirm disbursements align with the settlement statement, and ensure the file is balanced and complete
Prepare miscellaneous closing documents, including revising figures and resubmitting documents as needed to address any changes identified at the closing table
Ensure the closing package is properly executed with all names, legal descriptions, and critical details shown correctly on all documents, especially mortgages, notes, and deeds
Review title commitments and secure all necessary title clearance documents, including transfer stamps, invoices, payoff statements, surveys, HOA letters, and final utility bills
Review mortgage payoffs for accuracy, transmit payoff funds in a timely manner, and coordinate with lenders to confirm receipt and processing
Handle post-closing items necessary to cure the file, including reconciliations, holdbacks, recording corrections, and lien payoff verification to ensure timely recording and lender package delivery
About You
Minimum Qualifications
2+ years of experience as an Escrow Officer or in a similar closing/settlement role
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Client service background with a demonstrated ability to build rapport and exceed expectations
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency with Qualia, Tableau, or GSuite platforms
Experience with title software and settlement systems
Familiarity with real estate lending processes and lender requirements
Track record of successfully managing high transaction volumes

The compensation information below is provided in compliance with all applicable job posting disclosure requirements. The compensation for this position is $26.45-$50.66. The position may also be eligible for an annual bonus, incentives, and other employment-related benefits including, but not limited to, medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401K retirement plan, and paid-time off.
