Forming Machine Technician I

About the Role

Step into a hands-on production role where you’ll shape components to exacting specifications using forming machinery. You’ll begin with a structured training period on first shift, then transition to second shift where you’ll apply your skills to keep production moving safely and efficiently.

A Day in the Life

You’ll start your shift with a review of job travelers and work instructions, set up your assigned equipment, and run parts to meet quality and throughput goals. Throughout the day, you’ll check parts using gauges, interpret blueprints when needed, make minor adjustments, and document everything accurately. Safety, environmental care, and quality discipline frame how you work.

Compensation & Schedule

• Starting pay: $22.50/hr
• After fully training, pay increases to $25/hr once moved to 2nd shift.
• Regular shift after training: 4:00pm–2:30am
• Training shift: Training will be conducted on 1st shift for approximately 4 to 6 months (6am–4:30pm).

What You’ll Do

• Operate assigned forming/mechanical equipment safely and productively.
• Verify output meets quality requirements and product specifications.
• Diagnose minor equipment issues and make necessary adjustments.
• Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings as needed.
• Use required gauging/measurement tools to confirm dimensions.
• Perform basic machine set-ups.
• Complete production documents thoroughly and accurately.
• Follow all Safety, Environmental, and Quality procedures.
• Assist with other tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualification

• High School Diploma

Physical Demands

• Lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly; push/pull up to 50 lbs.
• Stand for extended periods with frequent bending and stooping.
• Manual dexterity for handling small parts.
• Comfort working in a noisy environment.
