Schedule: Full-Time

Shift: 8-Hour Day Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)

Weekend Rotation: Yes – Rotating weekends (on-call)

On-Call: Yes – 2–3 times per week plus weekends for emergency cases

About the Role

MedOp Solutions is partnering with a healthcare facility in Chicago, Illinois to hire an experienced Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment.

This role supports a dynamic Interventional Radiology and Cath Lab environment, requiring nurses with strong procedural and critical care backgrounds. The RN will assist with a variety of minimally invasive procedures while providing pre-, intra-, and post-procedure care.

This position is ideal for nurses with prior IR or Cath Lab experience and a foundation in emergency or ICU care, who are comfortable managing patients in high-acuity procedural settings and responding to urgent call cases.

Unit Overview

• Department: Interventional Radiology / Diagnostic Radiology
• Setting: Procedural / Acute Care
• Floating: May be required based on departmental needs
• Assignment Type: Traveler (replacement position)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for patients undergoing interventional radiology and cath lab procedures
• Perform pre-procedure assessments and ensure patient readiness
• Assist during procedures, maintaining sterile technique and patient safety
• Monitor patients during procedures, including sedation and hemodynamic status
• Provide post-procedure recovery and patient education
• Administer medications and manage IV access
• Respond to emergency procedures during on-call hours
• Collaborate with physicians, technologists, and interdisciplinary teams
• Document all patient care accurately in the EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license required
• Minimum 1+ year of Interventional Radiology and/or Cath Lab experience required
• Prior critical care experience (ER or ICU) required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to respond to emergent situations
• Ability to participate in frequent on-call rotation

Scheduling & Expectations

• Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• On-call required:
  • 2–3 nights per week
  • Rotating weekend call coverage
• On-call required for emergency procedures
• 13-week assignment
