Superintendent of Catholic Schools (Springfield)
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Springfield in Illinois has partnered with Crosskeys Talent Solutions for this key role:
Established in 1853, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Springfield in Illinois has deep roots and a long, meaningful history in central Illinois. Known for dozens of active parishes across 28 counties, the Diocese offers a vibrant, close-knit faith community experience.
The Superintendent role requires a joyful and authentically Catholic individual to help us “build a fervent community of intentional and dedicated missionary disciples of the Risen Lord and steadfast stewards of God’s creation who seek to become saints.” (Fourth Diocesan Synod, Statute #1).
This position oversees areas of Catholic identity and accreditation for diocesan elementary and high schools and serves as a Commissioner with the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA). The Superintendent directs Catholic formation in schools, implements the Evermode Institute, and promotes Religion curriculum to strengthen school culture. The role extends the Catholic mission of Christ’s Church and the evangelical initiatives of the Bishop to all schools and educational programs, modeling missionary discipleship in every aspect of leadership.
The Superintendent assists principals, pastors, teachers, and Curia staff in implementing diocesan policies and maintaining procedures that ensure fidelity to Catholic culture. The individual develops and maintains teaching and professional development programs for school administrators and teachers that integrate Gospel values with sound educational practices. The position also provides guidance in accreditation, standards, site visits, and operational and budgetary matters to support excellence and accountability.
