Cultivation Tech - Rock Island, IL - Cannabis Industry
The ideal candidate is positive, self-motivated, and detail-oriented—someone who enjoys working hands-on with plants and thrives in a fast-paced, regulated environment. *This is a temporary opportunity, the schedule is Monday-Friday 7 am-3:30pm, paying at $16.50 an hour*
Key Responsibilities
Plant Cultivation
- Perform plant care tasks such as topping, bottoming, transplanting, and defoliating
- Monitor plants for pests, disease, and other health issues
- Train and prune plants to promote optimal growth
- Adhere to cultivation standards and practices in accordance with our client’s national grow model
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe grow environment
- Prepare rooms for harvest
- Harvest and break down plants
- Defoliate and hang plants for drying
- Clean dry rooms and flower rooms between harvests
- Sweep, mop, and clean grow areas regularly
- Clean and maintain plant housing devices, pots, tables, and tools
- Identify and report any equipment or facility issues to management
- Follow safety protocols and wear required PPE
- Comply with all state regulations and internal standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Record all data accurately and completely as directed
- Support Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), sanitation, and biosecurity measures
- Calibrate and maintain tools and equipment as instructed
- Report and help resolve safety and quality issues
- Regularly perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and repetitive motion
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
- Must be comfortable working in warm and humid conditions (85+ degrees, 70% humidity)
- Must be able and willing to work at heights of 6-8 feet using catwalks, ladders, and scaffolds
- Exposure to potential allergens including cannabis, tree nuts, and coconut oil
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or related certifications preferred
- Experience in agriculture, horticulture, or cannabis cultivation is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Adaptable to change and capable of working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must possess a valid state ID
- Must be able to obtain and maintain required state-issued cannabis work credentials (includes background check and state review)
