About Our Client

Our client is looking for an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS/MT or MLT) to join their high-complexity clinical laboratory. This is a Generalist role with a strong focus on Blood Bank (Transfusion Services) .

Job Responsibilities

• Perform moderate and high-complexity laboratory testing following laboratory procedures.

• Review specimens to ensure they are acceptable for testing.

• Analyze and report accurate test results.

• Perform Blood Bank testing and ensure accurate transfusion support.

• Complete daily quality control and maintain laboratory documentation.

• Perform routine instrument maintenance and basic troubleshooting.

• Assist with new instrument installations and assay validations.

• Use the Laboratory Information System (LIS) to manage daily workflow.

• Help train and support new laboratory staff.

• Maintain compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and other laboratory regulations.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related science.

• Current ASCP or AMT certification is required (MLS/MT or MLT).

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a high-complexity clinical or hospital laboratory.

• Strong Blood Bank experience is required , including:

  • ABO/Rh Typing

  • Antibody Screening & Identification

  • Crossmatching

  • Compatibility Testing

  • Blood Transfusion Support

• Must meet CLIA requirements for High Complexity Testing Personnel.

• Experience working as a Generalist is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital laboratory experience.

• Experience with laboratory instrument validations.

• Previous leadership or mentoring experience.
