Position Title: Guest Experience Ambassador

Location: Nafsi South Shore, South Shore Cultural Center, Chicago, IL

Reports To: Owner / General Manager

Job Summary:

Nafsi South Shore Beach is seeking polished, high-energy hospitality professionals to join our team as Guest Experience Ambassadors. This role reimagines the traditional server position — combining the warmth and attentiveness guests expect with Nafsi's modern, self-service dining model powered by Toast Digital.

As a Guest Experience Ambassador, you are the face of the guest experience. While guests place their own orders via QR code at the table, you are responsible for guiding them through the process, ensuring they feel welcomed and confident, and delivering the high-touch hospitality that defines dining at Nafsi. This is a hospitality-first role supported by technology — not the other way around.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Welcome & Experience

• Warmly greet guests and introduce Nafsi's self-service dining concept
• Clearly explain how to access and use Toast Digital ordering via QR code
• Help guests feel comfortable and confident navigating the platform independently
• Maintain the welcoming, attentive presence guests expect from a traditional server

Guided Self-Service Support

• Act as a knowledgeable resource while allowing guests to place their own orders
• Answer menu questions and provide recommendations when requested
• Support guests without taking over the ordering process
• Ensure guests understand that orders are submitted directly by them and cannot be modified once sent

Guest Accountability & Order Integrity

• Encourage guests to review orders carefully before submission
• Professionally reinforce accountability for guest-entered orders
• Troubleshoot platform questions and escalate verified system issues to management

Service Execution

• Deliver food and beverages promptly and accurately
• Check in with guests throughout their dining experience
• Provide attentive hospitality that encourages guest satisfaction and tips
• Maintain dining room cleanliness and reset tables efficiently

Hosting & Floor Flow

• Manage reservations and walk-ins using OpenTable
• Support seating flow aligned with kitchen pacing
• Set clear expectations for wait times and the overall dining experience

Operations & Team Support

• Communicate guest needs with kitchen and management teams
• Assist with opening and closing duties
• Stay informed on menu updates, specials, and events
• Thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Required Qualifications / Skills:

• 2+ years of restaurant or hospitality experience (server experience strongly preferred)
• Natural ability to create warm, welcoming guest interactions
• Strong communication skills with confidence educating guests
• Comfort learning and supporting digital ordering technology
• Experience with Toast and/or OpenTable preferred
• Professional, polished, and solution-oriented demeanor

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
• Prior shift lead or supervisory experience
• Experience training or onboarding team members
• Familiarity with Toast POS system
• Strong menu and beverage pairing knowledge

Pay: From $12.20 per hour
